Organic chemistry also includes the study of how these compounds can be used in a variety of processes, in an attempt to increase the productivity of industries and to solve challenges on an environmental level.The basic study of organic chemistry deals with the synthesis of organic molecules. Among these molecules are sugars, alkanes, alcohols, ketones, and cyclic monoterpenes. Chemists have also studied the process of splitting a molecule into smaller components such as different types of amines, monoesters, esters, and hydroxychlorines.The study of organic chemistry has much scope beyond the synthesis of these types of compounds. When working with or ganic compounds, the organic chemist uses various processes such as the hydrolysis of salts to obtain the desired end product. Hydrolysis of salts involve the breakdown of a complex compound by use of acids and bases, so that it is reduced to its simplest form.Other compounds such as amines, ammonia, amines, and amides are likewise broken down during hydrolysis in order to obtain chemical end products that can be further used in industrial applications. The chemicals derived from these processes can also be used in the manufacture of solvents, pesticides, fertilizers, or chemicals for food and medicine.When conducting research in organic chemistry, the materials used for experiments should be hygroscopic. The properties of an organic compound must be compatible with water. Certain laboratory samples must also be stable in order to facilitate a comparison between synthetic and natural compounds. The major aim of the researcher is to determine the structure and reactivity of chemical compounds.The study of organic chemistry can be done at home, or a university environment. The student will be required to bring his or her own laboratory equipment and chemicals in order to perform experiments. There is little need for a background in biology, but students may be required to complete a laboratory exercise using laboratory animals.The student will study the reactions that take place within the laboratory setting in order to understand the fundamental concepts in organic chemistry. Both laboratory and field work will be required in order to practice the many processes that are used in organic chemistry. Students will learn about why different reactions occur, how compounds are formed, and how the catalysts that are used to create these compounds function. The student will be introduced to the principles of the periodic table, an overview of the periodic motion of the planets, and a better understanding of how chemical reactions generate heat.The student will also lea rn about the properties of different compounds and be able to work with the compounds that he or she is studying organic chemistry with. The teacher will present in detail the formulas used in organic chemistry and will guide the student through the application of these formulas in the laboratory. The student will be able to gain valuable knowledge of organic chemistry, and can become a part of the next generation of scientific researchers.
